Fraser River
The Fraser River is the largest river in British Columbia, stretching 1375 km. The Fraser offers some of the some of the most productive salmon fishing anywhere and consistently produces some of the biggest Sturgeon in the world. The fishing is to say the least, unbelievable. Being such a large river you can always find out of the way places to fish away from the crowds.
Vedder River
The Vedder river is a tributary of the Fraser river providing great fishing opportunities for all species of salmon, steelhead and trout. There are 36 km of fishable water below Slesse Creek. Fished all year, the Vedder really really becomes busy in the fall when Salmon are thick, leading right into Steelhead season starting in December and increasing in numbers from late January right through until late spring.
Harrison River
Another tributary of the Fraser, the Harrison River is only 10 km long but it offers an abundance of fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities. All species of salmon as well a sturgeon and trout are abundant throughout the Harrison. In the fall bald eagles congregate in large numbers in the area. Many of the beaches offer up fossils of an ancient sea bed that once covered the area.
Chehalis River
The Chehalis River flows south form Chehalis Lake into the Harrrison River, winding its way down some very large canyons and rapids. This river is extremely productive for all salmon species especially Coho. Some of the best holes are located in steep canyons so be prepared to do some hiking to get to the more secluded spots.
Stave River
This short stretch of river holds all species of salmon, steelhead, rainbow sea run cutthroat, dolly varden and white fish. Generally this river is very quiet and peaceful.
Stave Lake
Stave lake has great opportunities for rainbow, cutthroat, dollies, and kokanee year round. At 15 miles long, it is the largest lake in the region and is perfectly suited for trolling gear or fly fishing.
Pitt River
This remote wilderness river is boat access only. A great river for fly or drift gear, you can expect to be very busy reeling in large dollies along with all species of salmon as well as great runs of steelhead and cutthroat trout. This is out of the way adventure is one you won’t soon forget.
